Namarca And Music At Home ...
Namarca was born and raised in Mackay North Queensland in 1978. Growing up in a large family where music and the gospel of Jesus Christ was threaded into everyday life, Namarca was encouraged to sing and play music for God from an early age. His love of drums and guitar began at the age of twelve, playing at youth events and in church and school chapel services. Nowadays Namarca writes original music, provides instrumental lessons and composes commercial jingles for businesses at cascadeblue studios. He is also the Music Director at City Impact Church in Mackay.
The History Behind The Name ...
Namarca has a unique name by any Australian standards, even though he is 4th generation Australian. The Corowa family history in Australia dates back to the 1860's when his great grandparents on his fathers and mothers side were bought to Australian soil from Vanuatu, to labour in sugar plantations and to become a part of establishing Queensland's once great sugar industry. The name 'Namarca' originates in Vanuatu, which was given to him by his grandfather Alf Corowa, who is a paramount chief on the island of Tanna in Vanuatu and Namarca was given his name because, he is the eldest grandson of a chief bearing the 'Corowa' name.
The Inspirations ...
Namarca has been played as a session player, entertainer, worship leader and music student. In his teen years Namarca had the oppourtunity to play along side great christian musicians and artists such as, Darlene Zchech, Geoff Bullock, Steve Aparana, David Holms, Eric Ossesbaar, and Andrew Ironside. These Christian artists have inspired Namarca to follow his dream of playing music to help extend the Kingdom of God. Namarca also grew up, learning styles, chords and lead breaks to musicians such as, Eric Clapton, John Lee Hooker, Johnny Diesel, Lightning Hopkins, and Tommy Emmanuel.
